Standard zoom lens covering the 35mm camera equivalent of 27-81mm focal length. This lens is ideal for just about any everyday photo opportunity. The extra wide angle at the 10mm end can capture indoor and group shots with ease, while the 30mm end helps cut out distracting peripheral details on more distant subjects and is also ideal for portraits.
In this lens Nikon have included their Vibration Reduction (VR) system which allows you to use shutter speeds three stops slower, ideal in low light. A stepping motor is used which is extra quiet for movie recording and the smooth aperture adjustment also improves movie quality. Power focus is included for users who wish to focus manually via the camera body.
Three aspherical elements are included in this lens to ensure sharpness and good contrast throughout the zoom range.
