Tamron describes this lens as “Telephoto Evolved” and it redefines what’s possible in a compact telephoto zoom lens. As of October 2012 it is the smallest lens in its class (full frame IS ultrasonic focus high speed telezoom). It is equipped with Vibration Compensation (optical image stabilisation) and has an Ultrasonic Silent Drive for near-silent and lightning-fast focusing.



This lens has a wide, fast f/2.8 maximum aperture which applies across the zoom range, giving you flexibility to use a shallower depth of field and shoot in lower light. For wide aperture shooting, there is also a rounded diaphragm which gives pleasing bokeh effects for softer out-of-focus areas.

For excellent image quality, this lens features XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass and LD (Low Dispersion) elements for extremely low chromatic aberration as well as the optical design having excellent contrast and resolution.
