Sony have used high-end components combined with an approach to usability and expandability that clearly makes a statement about the Cyber-shot RX100 MkII as a serious image capturing tool.

A Quality Photographic Tool
Right from first impressions, its well-constructed aluminium design oozes quality and this is borne out by the large 1.0” Exmor R Back-Illuminated CMOS sensor which records at an effective 20.2 megapixels. The Back-Illuminated design makes far more use of available light and therefore improved performance when conditions are darker. The wide f/1.8 aperture lens also helps greatly in this respect. The BIONZ image processor allows for continuous shooting at up to 10 frames per second.

The f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* coated Lens offers amazing image quality and a 3.6x zoom range. The unusually wide f/1.8 maximum aperture means as well as shooting with confidence in very dim conditions, there is the ability to control depth of field, further improved by the large image sensor dimensions.

Well Connected
The RX100 II has both Wi-Fi and NFC One-Touch wireless sharing interfaces. NFC allows you to instantaneously share your images by placing the camera against an NFC smartphone, TV or tablet.

3.0” Tiltable LCD Monitor
The large, tiltable LCD screen lets you comfortably compose your pictures from otherwise awkward angles such as peering over a crowd at arm’s length or looking straight ahead at waist level.

SteadyShot with Active Mode
As well as correcting for normal handholding camera shake, this SteadyShot stabiliser has Active Mode which is designed for correction even while walking or zooming and with additional correction for rolling motion.

Manual and Auto Options
For times when you know the effect you are looking for, Manual Control is accessible with a Control Ring, which also controls custom and program modes for exposure, zoom and effects amongst other functions.

For other times when you need that shot quickly, Superior Auto Mode has been created for sharp results with low noise and high dynamic range, plus there are 13 picture effects for bias towards a preferred scene style. For ultimate quality and editing without loss of fidelity there is also 14-bit RAW shooting.

Full HD Video
Record movie footage in Full 1080p HD quality and access using the dedicated movie button. For a cinematic look there is also an option for a 24p frame rate.

Expandability
The RX100 Mk2 comes with a Multi Interface Shoe for an external electronic viewfinder, flash or stereo microphone so you can expand your setup as your needs dictate or budget allows.
