The ultra-wide Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L Series zoom lens offers Canon’s finest image quality in combination with a useful constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 for low light shooting, plus full time manual focus override. To expand on the detail of optical quality, this 16-35mm lens uses three aspherical elements for edge-to-edge sharpness, plus two UD (Ultra Low Dispersion) elements that just about eliminate chromatic aberration, or colour fringing. This is all good but of course you need to be sure that flare and ghosting effects do not spoil your images, and to this end Canon have used their Super Spectra lens coatings which also maintain an excellent colour balance.
