Optical Stabiliser (OS) Technology
This features two motion sensors (horizontal and vertical) and makes corrective adjustments to the image stabilising lens group. The net effect is the equivalent of an extra four stops faster in exposure.

Optical Performance
Uses both aspherical lens elements and SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass to correct aberrations and give excellent colour accuracy and image sharpness.

HSM Motor
The Sigma HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) gives fast and quiet operation, ideal when shooting action and closeup shots. Its inner focus design also means that the lens barrel does not rotate during focusing making filter use much easier.

Zoom Lock
Stops the lens extending due to its own weight.
