Introducing the world's first zoom lens for APS-C digital SLRs with 8mm focal length.
The Sigma 8-16mm f4-5.6 DC lens gives the equivalent focal length of a 12-24mm lens added to a 35mm SLR camera. The use of special glasses and advanced coatings makes this lens possible with its superior level of optical performance. Its construction is also compact, being only 105.7mm in length.
Optical Technology
The Sigma 8-16mm lens uses four FLD ("F" Low Dispersion) elements which give the same extremely low refractive index as fluorite glass. This helps to correct residual chromatic aberration, that which can't be corrected by normal optical glass. Three aspherical elements also keep the image sharp right through the zoom range.
HSM with Full Time Manual Focus
The Hyper Sonic Motor ensures the internal focusing system is fast, accurate and quiet, while the Full Time Manual Focus feature means that you can adjust the focus manually just by turning the focus barrel, without having to miss the photo trying to find an AF/MF switch.
Super Multi Layer Coating
Advanced lens coating technology to drastically reduce lens flare and ghosting effects.
