Description

The Sigma 18-200mm DC MkII lens is very compact at just 87.7mm long and still incorporates a large 11.1x zoom ratio. As well as featuring the latest optical improvements, it includes Sigma’s original OS image stabiliser which gives up to 4 stops of stabilisation.

The fast and quiet Hyper Sonic Motor, or HSM is completely internal allowing the use of the supplied petal lens hood to give ultimate correction of flare. Couple this with Super Multi-Layer Coating - flare and ghosting are minimised throughout the entire zoom range.

One of the optical elements of this lens is made from state-of-the-art FLD (“F” Low Dispersion, equivalent to fluorite) glass which corrects secondary chromatic aberration, virtually eliminating colour fringes when combined with the two SLD (Super Low Dispersion) elements. There are also two glass mould aspherical and one hybrid aspherical element which combine to give high image quality throughout the zoom range and short overall length giving superb portability.

Additionally there is a rounded 7-blade diaphragm giving a softer texture to out-of-focus areas, a magnification scale and zoom lock.
