Professional Super Telephoto Lens utilising aspherical lens elements and having Fluorite, UD and DO elements. Image Stabilisation, Full Time Manual Focus and Super Spectra coatings are also featured with this optic. The magnesium alloy construction keeps the lens relatively light in weight.

Highest Optical Quality
Uses a combination of fluorite and ultra-low dispersion (UD) elements to keep distortion and other aberrations to a minimum. SWC (Sub-Wavelength Coatings) are used to drastically reduce internal reflections which cause ghosting and flare.

Extra Fast and Quiet Focus with Image Stabiliser
State of the art focusing control is employed in this lens, including Ring USM which controls the focus ring ultrasonically for an ultra-fast, near-silent focus. A two speed Power Focus mode is also included which is ideal when applied to video recording. For times when you need to be in full control there is Full Time Manual Focus which is an override which can still be used in AF mode.

The Image Stabiliser on this lens has several modes and gives up to four extra stops, especially useful when shooting sports or as light levels fade. Includes IS Mode 3, which is suited more to panning and only engages when the shutter button is pressed.
