Description

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E is an FX-format lens aimed at people interested in Wildlife Photography and capturing fast-moving action. This lens would be a great compliment for that trip of a lifetime Safari Holiday.

Featuring a constant f/5.6 aperture enables photographers to have uncompromising control over their shutter speed and depth of field. This means that when progressing through the focal range of this lens, the aperture will not change unless the photographer is shooting in shutter speed priority mode or if they choose to adjust the aperture manually. The 9-blade aperture construction of this lens also helps to deliver attractive out-of-focus highlights as the lens creates attractive separation between the intended subject and the background.

To combat the instability inherent in using a large telephoto lens, the NIKKOR 200-500mm features Nikon’s advanced Vibration Reduction technology. This will allow users to take pictures with shutter speeds up to 4.5 stops slower, while SPORT VR mode boosts performance when tracking fast action. High quality extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements are included in the structure of this 200-500mm lens. The three ED elements help to minimise the impact of chromatic aberrations and boost image clarity. The 200-500mm also benefits from Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor technology, quietly and quickly moving its 19 glass elements in 12 groups, for accurate focusing.

When paired with a full-frame Nikon DSLR camera, the reach of this 200-500mm lens can be extended to 300-750mm when the camera is switched to DX-format mode. This same increase in reach occurs when this lens is used on a DX-format camera such as the Nikon D500.
