Powered by the EXPEED 7 image processor
Backed by the same EXPEED 7 image processor that powers the flagship Z9 camera, and driven by Nikon’s proprietary deep-learning technology, the Z50II mirrorless camera makes shooting great-looking photos and video effortless. The camera can automatically recognize nine different subject types and intelligently track even fast, unpredictable subject movement.
Bright Electronic Viewfinder
The Z50II also makes composing great shots more enjoyable with the brightest electronic viewfinder (EVF) in its class. Built for the real world, the bright EVF provides a clearer view of the details even when shooting in harsh sunlight, dark environments, or changing light conditions.
Advanced autofocus
Advanced autofocus makes shooting effortless. Even if the scene is backlit, or you’re capturing small subjects against busy backgrounds, the Z50II will nail the focus and the track.
People, dogs, cats, birds, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and trains. The Z50II mirrorless camera can automatically recognise nine subject types, even from a distance.
With 3D tracking, it couldn’t be easier to follow unpredictable, fast-moving subjects like birds or animals. Focus is on-point, even if your subject is extremely small in the frame.
No need to switch focus modes yourself. Keep the Z50II in AF-A mode and its intelligent subject recognition will spot even the subtlest movement,
Creative features
Creative features that make this such a great camera for content creators include easy-to-use Picture Control presets for styling the look of photos and videos in-camera, and complimentary access to Nikon Imaging Cloud where users can download exclusive Imaging Recipes and colour presets straight to their camera.
Picture control button
A dedicated button on the Z50II takes users straight to the Picture Controls: the effects are visible in real time, and it’s easy to cycle through different presets while shooting.
Brilliant in low light
With the powerful EXPEED 7 image processor improving image quality at high ISO sensitivities, the Z50II give you freedom to shoot in low light.
Create in less than ideal lighting and you'll still capture professional looking images.
Create incredible video content
This camera’s stunning image quality and powerful video capabilities will take your content to the next level.
The Z50II captures richly detailed 4K UHD/30p video footage, oversampled from 5.6K. You get greater detail and greater creative flexibility than with a smartphone.
If you want to apply a Picture Control or Imaging Recipe to your video footage in-camera, you can shoot in SDR. If you’re beginning to experiment with the look and feel of your footage, shooting in N-Log embeds more colour information into the data so you get more flexibility to create the look you want when using editing software.
For fast action sequences you can film 4K/60p video in crop mode. Or you can add dramatic impact to your video with smooth Full HD (1080) slow-motion footage recorded at 120p.
Better vlogging
The front-facing vari-angle monitor is a boon for solo content creators. Touch controls make it easy to start and stop recording, and you can set the video self-timer for 2 or 10 seconds to create a delay before you start speaking. If the red recording light on the front of the camera is on, and you can see a red frame around the image on the monitor, you’re recording.
If you’re walking and talking, Nikon’s powerful Electronic Vibration Reduction helps nail steady handheld shots. The camera’s intelligent face- and eye-detection AF will keep the focus on you.
Easy live streaming
It couldn’t be easier. Simply connect the Z50II mirrorless camera to your smart device or computer using a compatible cable and you can stream directly to the platform of your choice. Plug in an external mic if you’re using one—and away you go.
Nikon Imaging Cloud
Connect the Z50II with Nikon Imaging Cloud and you can download up to nine exclusive Imaging Recipes straight to your mirrorless camera, where they’ll show up as new Picture Control profiles. You can also automate full-resolution photo uploads to cloud storage sites and keep your camera up to date with easy firmware updates.
