This medium telephoto lens is designed to be compatible with both full 35mm frame APS-C sized sensor digital SLR cameras. The inclusion of Super Low Dispersion glass keeps distortions to a minimum and the rounded 9-blade aperture ensures pleasingly soft out-of-focus areas.

Optical Components
The Sigma 85mm f1.4 EX lens uses a combination of a SLD (Super Low Dispersion) and Glass Mould elements to give excellent colour correction and sharpness right through the zoom range.

Hyper Sonic Motor
The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) is included in this lens to make focusing fast, accurate and quiet. The rear focus on this lens system helps to eliminate aberrations caused by the focusing operation too.

Flare Reduction
The Super Multi Layer Coating on the lens surfaces acts to greatly reduce flare and ghosting, while the supplied petal hood assists further to this end. This hood has an adapter to also make it a perfect optical fit when used with DSLRs having an APS-C sized sensor.
